About UsThe AnchorSuit? is a neoprene wet suit type cover for the fluke anchor, which softens all impact points of the anchor. Any boater knows that the fluke anchor is well known for its sharp, pointed and jagged edges which are hazards, as well as a nuisance. So with this in mind, the AnchorSuit? was created to prevent the anchor from causing damage and injury to boats and boaters alike.
Specifically, the AnchorSuit?:
- Provides protection from foot and toe injury while anchoring at your favorite beach, sand bar, tidal flat or spoil.
- Mitigates damage to other boats if your protruding windlass or bow pulpit fluke anchor comes into accidental contact with another boat.
- Provides protection to your boats exterior and interior finish when moving the anchor in and out of your boat.
- Provides foot protection to the occupants of your boat when the anchor is temporarily stowed underfoot while moored or underway.
- Presents a nice fit and finish to your fluke anchor when stowed on the pulpit of your yacht or boat.
Meet the Inventors
Kevin, Nicole and their daughter Olivia live on the South Coast of Massachusetts. They both grew up in coastal communities. Kevin, inventor of the AnchorSuit? , is from the shores of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin where he spent his childhood fishing, boating and camping with his family. Nicole grew up in Westport, Massachusetts. Spending most of her childhood as a landlubber and beach bum, it wasn't until the purchase of their sport boat in 1998 did she become addicted to boating and water activities. The Murray's spend their short New England summers on The Westport River in Buzzards Bay, MA and Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island.
The idea of the AnchorSuit? came about one day while we were anchored up on our local beach with several other boating friends. As I was picking myself up and dusting off the sand I tripped on a fluke anchor stuck into the sand. It was at that moment when I realized there must be a better way. As we began to look around we noticed that the shoreline was lined with buckets, lifejackets, flags and other make-shift covers over the fluke anchor. It was apparent that the intent was to make people aware of the anchor, but not protect them. At this moment we realized the need for a protective anchor cover, and behold along came the AnchorSuit?.
